This institution was the first Autonomous College of Education in India and is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai and accredited with ‘A+’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India. The courses offered by the college are recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education and the Rehabilitation Council of India. The College also takes part in the Associated Schools Projects of UNESCO. The College aims at man-making and character-building education as advocated by Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, and Mahatma Gandhi.
