Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Education, Channarayapatna (Dist. Hassan) was established in July 1980 with the blessings Sri Adichuchanagiri Shikshana Trust (R).

It is located in semi urban area which is about 37 Km's distances from Hassan town and connects Mandya, Mangalore, Shimoga, Tumkur districts.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college is affiliated with the University of Mysore, Mysuru on 1st April 1993 and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on June 2003 under Act, 1956.

This college is recognized & approved by Govt. of Karnataka and National Council For Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru in 1996 and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.85 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 14th September 2015.

The college takes their overall development by the cooperation of Sri H.S.Vijaykumar, Secretary of the Trust since 1992. It is an aided institution (since 1993) out of 100 intakes, 75 Seats will be filled up by Govt.of Karnataka through CET rankings and remaining 25 Seats will be filled up by the Management through an interview process.

The college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mysore, Mysuru from 1992-93. All the activities of the college are monitored by the University. The Government of Karnataka has admitted the college under grant-in-aid scheme from 1st April 1993. NCTE has given recognition during 1996. UGC gives its recognition to 12(b) under UGC Act 1956 from June 2003.

The college has achieved excellence in the pursuit of Teacher Education since last 35 years in preparing the sound and efficient teachers to Primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The teachers are highly qualified and experience in their subject and support to the student to share their knowledge.
