Sree Vyasa N.S.S. College, Thrissur was established in 1967 originally by the Jnanasram which has been doing great service in the spiritual field throughout the country for several years.

This institution has been catering in a modest way, to the higher education needs of a large part of Thalappily Taluk in a remarkable manner.

The college was upgraded in 1975-76 with the commencement of B.Com Degree course. B.Sc course in Chemistry Main was started in 1976-77, Physics Main in 1980-81 & Mathematics Main in 1981 –82.

With the introduction of shift system in 1979-80, the number of batches for the Pre-Degree course rose to nine.

M.Sc Degree in Chemistry and B.A Course in Economics were started in 1982-83.

B.Sc course in Botany was started in 1993. B.A. Degree course in English Literature with Communicative English and Journalism as subsidiaries was started in 1988-99.
