Sree Narayana College, Cherthala was established in 1964 managed under Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam with the objective of providing higher education to the young men and women especially of the backward communities of the locality.

The College is affiliated to the University of Kerala and is recognized by the U.G.C. 

The College is situated by the side of NH- 47 between Cherthala and Alappuzha.

The College lays special emphasis on character building and social commitments based on the teaching of Sree Narayana Guru who believed that educated youth could shred the shackles of the social discrimination and face the challenges of life with confidence and pride.

The co-educational institution has 1336 on their comprising 744 girls and 592 boys (as on Nov 2005) 69 faculty and 54 member s on the non-teaching staff.
