Sourashtra Teacher Training Institute, Theni was established in 2003.

It is managed under Jawahar Foundation & Research, Madurai.

The College is situated on the National Highways NH 49 at Veerapandi, 8 Kms from Theni Bus stand. Land Area of about 10 Acres in the survey Nos.: 927 and 929 at Veerapandi village Theni District has been owned by the trust to establish Sourashtra College of Education and Sourashtra Teacher Training Institute.

A permanent Building has been constructed to run the two courses (D.El.Ed and B.Ed.).

The institute is well connected to Theni, Cumbum, Bodinayakanur, Periakulam, Kodaikanal and Madurai by frequent bus services.

The College also runs own buses for the benefit of its students and teachers.
