Smt. B.K. Shah Medical Institute & Research Centre, Vadodara was established in 2003, is a constituent college of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University.

It is part of private state university under section 3 of UGC, unitary affiliating type.

The Centre was granted permission by Medical Council of India & Government of India with intake capacity of 150 Medical students.

It was initially granted affiliation from Gujarat University and later it was declared as Deemed University status.

The government of India gave permission to start post graduate courses in 69 post graduate degree in 20 subjects and 25 post graduate diploma seats were permitted.
