Smt. B.C.J College of Education, Khambhat was established in June 1968 under the management of Shree Khambhat Taluka Sarvajanik Kelavani Mandal.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is permanently affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 2(B) under Act, 1956.

The college is recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed. & M.Ed. courses. It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade  - (CGPA Score 2.61 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 11th Meeting of the Standing Committee (Dated: 19th January 2016).

Under committed leadership of the Management and the Principal, the college could strive for better quality assurance and success in educating teacher trainees to become good teachers for the secondary schools.

The peer team wishes the college to further grow towards excellence in teacher education. The team appreciates the co-operation and support extended by the management, principal, coordinator, teaching and nonteaching staff and the students of the college during the visit.

It is essential for growth of the institution and for better quality enhancement, renewal inputs could be planned by the college. Based on its interaction with all the stakeholders and observation of the various facilities and activities during the visit, the Peer team makes the following recommendations for quality improvement.

The main aim of the college is to train the students for secondary and higher secondary teachers. The college is imparting lessons, micro-lessons and Block Teaching to give the practical training to the Students.

The institute offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college offers one-year postgraduate programme i.e. Master of Education (M.Ed.) as per the norms of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for those who have completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Smt. B.C.J College of Education, Khambhat in its various departments.
