Smt. Addepalli Mahalakshmi Devi College of Education for Women, Danavaipeta was established in 1976.

It is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The college inaugurated by the  Education Minister were kind enough to grant permission to start the College of Education.

The management remains grateful for the gracious act of their good offices as this helps many women graduates to get the B.Ed Degree conferred on them.

Even at their infant stage, the college attained good Results with high number of passes. The College management purchased a building of their own on 1979 for the College in Danavaipeta (park western side street).

The College was shifted into this new building on 1-6-1979. As the building will not meet all the demands of the college accommodation, a three storied building was constructed on the vacant site available at an estimated cost of about rupees five lakh, and now it became a full fledged institution.

The College was admitted to Government grant-in-aid from 1989 and was given permanent affiliation by Andhra University from the year 1991-1992.
