Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Pune a constituent of Symbiosis International University was established in the year 2008 and currently offers B.Tech & M.Tech Programmes.

Students can opt for and qualify a special diploma from SIBM during their course of studies at SIT

Symbiosis was established by Prof. (Dr.) S. B. Mujumdar in 1971 with the motto of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - the World is one Family and has been providing quality education in different disciplines Like Law, Management, Computer Studies, Media & Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences, Medical & Health Sciences, Engineering and Architecture & Design. Today, Symbiosis has over 45,000 students from all the states of India and from over 85 countries. on 6th March, 2022, Symbiosis celebrated with commemoration of its Golden Jubilee and we were honored to have the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi JI who also inaugurated the "Symbiosis Aarogya Dham".

M. Tech programmes in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Robotics and Automation, Embedded Systems, Engineering Design, Geo-informatics and Surveying Technology, Automotive Technology.

Research programmes leading to Ph. D. Degree in all disciplines were introduced in the Faculty of Engineering of Symbiosis International University in 2010.

With NBA-accredited programs to its credit, SIT emphasizes both foundational principles and cutting-edge advancements, boasting high-quality infrastructure, multimedia classrooms, state-of-the-art labs, high-end computing facilities with various latest software for simulations and other applications, well-stocked modern library with digital media and database, auditorium, seminar halls and separate hostels for boys & girls and playgrounds.

Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, also hosts the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) funded 5G lab to upskill engineering graduates in the contemporary and evolving technology landscape.

The Institute has international collaborations for student and faculty exchange with Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Ingolstadt University Germany, Purdue School of Engineering, IUPUI Indianapolis USA and Leibniz University Hannover.

The institute’s long-term connections across academic and corporate circles help the student identify and pursue a niche early on in their career, thus giving them an edge in this time of fierce competition. The students undergo a semester long Industry Internship with stipend ranging from Rs. 10 k to 50 k.

The holistic curriculum at SIT Pune comprises subjects such as Creative Thinking, Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, Liberal Arts, Service Learning, etc besides core engineering subjects to realize the dream of Prof. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar Sir, Chancellor of SIU and founder of Symbiosis, of creating Global Engineers. Another advantage that the tech-enabled pedagogy of SIT, Pune helps with is familiarity with technology which will strengthen the resumes of the students in today’s hybrid and tech-enabled working environment. The institution also provides the students to grow into leading academics as well as entrepreneurs, with platforms such as Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (SCEI), a business incubator, funded and recognised by the government. A special diploma from SIBM and courses from other Symbiosis Institutes are offered to the students. The online courses from Coursera, MOOC, SWAYAM etc are offered to the students to enhance the quality education.

Research has always been an integral part of SIT’s pedagogy. Most of our faculties and students publish research articles in top-indexed journals with high impact factor. The institute also contributes to the intellectual property by publishing patents and copyrights in the key domains of research.
