The college was renamed as Sir Parashurambhau College as a mark of gratitude towards the Rajasaheb of Jamkhindi state who donated a handsome amount of Rs. Two lakhs in the memory of his father.

The college started offering courses in Arts faculty from 1916, in Science from 1927 and in Commerce from 1976. The junior college in all three faculties was added in 1976.
