Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) was established in the year 2007.

Sir Padampat Singhania University has been established through an Act (Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur Act, 2008) of the State Government of Rajasthan. Sir Padampat Singhania University is recognized by UGC vide Letter No: F.9-8/2009(CPP-1) dated 13 April 2009 and Letter No: F.5-3/2017(CPP-1/PU) dated 18 April 2017. The university is empowered to award degrees as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956.

UGC conducted the mandatory inspection of the university on maintenance of minimum standards and, thereafter, recognized SPSU under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 vide Letter No: F.9-8/2009(CPP-1/PU) dated 31 October 2014.

SPSU has been ranked as the No. 1 university in the Mewar region. It is ranked 4th in Rajasthan and 23rd in India by EW Ranking 2022. SPSU has been awarded Diamond Band Rating with A+ Grade in the OBE World rankings 2022. SPSU offers 6 specializations across the School of Engineering and Management, in partnership with leading corporates.

It is nearly half a century since the late Sir Padampat Singhania, the visionary founder of the JK Organization, dreamt of an empowered Indian populace, through whom India would take its place as an equal in the comity of nations. According to him, empowerment presupposes education and knowledge. That became the cornerstone of the organization’s philosophy for discharging its social responsibility and JK Cement Ltd. Nimbahera Foundation (JKCNF) was born. Over time, involvement in education became stronger and deeper. Today, two decades later, it is associated with twelve educational institutions imparting education to nearly 14,000 students at various levels of the learning curve. The JK Cement Ltd. and Nimbahera Foundation envisioned the establishment of world-class university in Rajasthan benchmarked to international educational institutions. The Foundation constituted a think tank of eminent people from industry, science and technology, and academia who prepared the blueprint of the University.
