Sikkim Manipal University Directorate of Distance Education (SMU-DE), Manipal was established in 2001.

Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is a unique Public-Private Partnership between the Government of Sikkim and Manipal Education and Medical Group. Launched in 1995, the University offers graduate and post graduate degree courses in Management and IT.

SMU-DE, the distance education arm of SMU, was set up in 2001, and is a leading provider of professional Distance Learning Programs in India today. The university offers courses such as MBA, MCA, BCA and BBA. All these programs are recognised and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Apart from the printed Self Learning Material, students get seamless anytime, anywhere access to their courses through EduNxt, the award winning next-generation education platform.
