Shri V.M. Mehta Municipal Arts & Commerce College, Jamnagar was established in 1972.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

It has been imparting education to the unprivileged and the less fortunate students since then. It had undertaken a long journey and along the way, it faced many challenges, trials, and tribulations.

The journey also afforded us the opportunity of introspection, frank and sometimes even cruel gut-cleansing honesty and frankness. As we look back, we can clearly see where we scored and where we failed.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts & Commerce under Saurashtra University, Rajkot. It also offers some Certificate & Add-on courses.

Vision & Mission:

• Earlier education had always been elite’s prerogative. Education was confined to the rich and influential. Keeping this in mind, the independent India and it’s policy makers set for itself and for the nation the goal of universalisation of education. The district of Jamnagar had this specific need to cater to a large mass of students who had nowhere to go when they could barely scrape through. Such low-grade students were deprived of higher education in the event of failing to fetch requisite grade. Shri V.M.Mehta Municipal Arts and Commerce College was founded with a view to catering to such a large body of students.
