Shri R.P. Arts was established on 15th June 1960, Shri K.B. Commerce was established in 1964 and Smt. B.C.J. Science College was established on 15th June 1961.  

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Anand formerly affiliated with Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade.

It is situated in Khambhat, which is a historical town with rich cultural heritage. In order to preserve ancient idols and sculptures, a museum was established in the Arts Faculty.

This museum has statues, coins, manuscripts and stones with inscriptions in Arabic and Persian.A well-equipped Research Laboratory was started in the Science College for which donation came from Shri Bapulal Harjivandas Vakil.

Running under the name of Bapulal Harjivandas Research Laboratory, this institute provided education to nearly 150 post-graduate students every year. Two-three research scholars worked here every year. The Arts College started post graduate centers for Gujarati and Hindi in 1966. Mrs.Shantaben Maneklal Gandhi gave a donation for starting Home Science Department.

The college has a history spanning five decades. In 1960, the Khambhat Municipality completed 50 years and was celebrating its Golden Jubilee. Then the municipality president Shree Ranjitrai G. Shastri, a man of great vision and initiative, put before the member of the municipality the idea of establishing a college in the town. A meeting of the leading citizens was held on 23rd August 1959, in which it was resolved that

• A college be started in the town
• The college be named after the person giving the highest donation and
• An appeal is made to all the citizens to strive for the success of this project

Tremendous support was given to the proposal by various donors.

Shree Maneklal Mohanlal Parekh, Shree Chimanbhai Parekh, and Shree Amrutlalbhai Parekh donated Rs. 81,001 for Shree Rajani Parekh Arts College.

A donation of Rs. 1,51,000 was received in the memory of Shrimati Bhikhuben Chandulal Jalundhvala for the science college. Shree Natwarlal Mohanlal Kharekwala donated Rs.31,000 for Mohanchand Vakhatchand Library.

Shree Khambhat Taluka Sarvjanik Kelvani Mandal was established in a meeting on 25th October 1959. The trust’s constitution was made, various committees were formed and the trust was registered.

This college offers three years undergraduate courses and two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science & Commerce stream under Sardar Patel University, Anand. It also offers Certificate courses & Add-on courses.
