About Shri R. K. Parikh Arts and Science College, Petlad

Shri R. K. Parikh Arts and Science College, Petlad was established on 16th June 1946 under the management of Petlad Education Trust which was set up in 1945.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 15th November 1996 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade on 31st March 2007.

The college offers UG courses in Arts and Science faculties while PG courses in Arts faculty. In Science faculty graduation courses offered are Physics, Chemistry, and Microbiology.

It also offers graduation in Gujarati, Economics, and Sociology in Arts faculty. The Postgraduation programme in Gujarati, Economics, and Sociology are also available.

The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff and with good results
The college has the most eminent Faculty members and they are really well qualified, experienced and truly committed towards enhancement and development of the students
The institution is working with a shining sun, the spectrum which is radiating in all possible directions
The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls & playground etc.
A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
The college has a book bank for helping the poor and backward class students
State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 15th June 2007 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment
For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
