Shri D.P. Verma Memorial Degree College, Sitapur was established in 2007.

Its managed under Devi Prasad Verma Foundation. The aim of the college is to impart very high quality education to the young people of Sitapur.

Devi Prasad Verma Foundation was instituted to promote ideals of late Shri Devi Prasad Verma who was snatched away from us by the cruel hands of destiny. He passed away in an accident on May 5, 2006. He was an ideal teacher in Sitapur.

District Sitapur is located about 80 Kms from state capital towards North-East. Due to closeness of the district with Lucknow, not many good and quality oriented higher education institutions were there in Sitapur. And very few students could afford to go to lucknow and other cities for higher studies. Majority of the students, particularly girls, could not pursue higher education due to virtually non existence of good institutions in Sitapur. Shri. D. P. Verma Memorial College was established in 2007 to fill up this gap. The aim of the college is to impart very high quality education to the young people of Sitapur.

The college is located at 6 kms from the city on Sitapur - Shahjahanpur Road (NH-24). The landscape of the college is very natural surrounded by green pastures. The natural environment is the most suitable for learning and knowledge acquistion.

The college is equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies such as internet and email. We are planning to make e-classroons in near future.

At present the college offers undergraduate degree courses (Social Sciences). We intend to offer the post graduate courses in near future. We might start job oriented courses on demanded.

Therefore his family wanted to setup academic institutions in his loving memory in a place where he spent his entire life. For this purpose Devi Prasad Verma Foundation was registered in October 2006.

And subsequently members of the Society decided to set up a degree college in their memory. With the grace of God the foundation succeeded in their Endeavour and could establish the college Shri D. P. Verma Memorial Degree College on his 52nd birth day, i.e. January 31, 2007.

Shri D.P. Verma Memorial Degree College was affiliated to Kanpur University, Kanpur.
