Gokhale Education Society was founded in 1918, by the veteran social worker, late Prin. T. A. Kulkarni, on the third death anniversary of Namdar Gopal Krishna Gokhale.
Today the society runs more than 90 educational institutions – from degree, junior college to secondary, primary and pre-primary schools, research centers and allied institutions which cater to the educational needs of more than one lakh students.
It was the dream of Late Prin. T. A. Kulkarni to have a college in Mumbai which was fulfilled by establishing Gokhale Education Society’s Arts, Commerce and Science College, in 1979, at Borivli, North West Suburb of Mumbai.
In1990 the college was renamed as Shri Bhausaheb Vartak Arts, Commerce and Science College.
