Shivajirao Deshmukh Shikshanshastra Mahavidyalaya, Sangli was established in 2007.

The co-educational, autonomous institution started its first academic session in 2007-2008.

Its Affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, the college has also gained the recognition from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal.
