Shivaji College Education, Uttara Kannada was established in June 1972 and managed under Shivaji Education Society (R), Baad, Karwar which was established in 1945.

Within a short span of time, Shivaji College Education has made in the field of Teacher Education. It is one of the oldest B.Ed College in Karnataka. Till today it has made an incredible mark in the arena of education.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

It is affiliated with Karnataka University, Dharwad and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) in November 2000 & 12(B) in November 2001 under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college was established through the efforts of Retd. additional commissioner for public instruction Late Shri V.B. Desai. It is one of the oldest B.Ed. College in Karnataka. Till today it has made an incredible mark in the arena of education.

The institution is located in a pollution free campus with 5-03-0 acres of land. Building constructed as per the guidelines of NCTE norms. For over four decades, the college has bloomed spreading its fragrance with budding teachers assiduously nurtured and groomed toward excellence to serve the society.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
