Shah. K.S. Arts & V.M.Parekh Commerce College, Kheda was established on 16th June 1961 under the management of Kapadwanj Kelvani Mandal, Kapadwanj in order to impart higher education in the field of arts and commerce for the residents of Kapadwanj taluka and nearby areas

The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 22nd January 1982 under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.12 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 8th March 2009.

For quite a long time this college remained as one of the premier institutions in Kapadwanj taluka and during last 54 years, the college has contributed in the field of higher education and also catered to the needs of the society and has proved its significance in the field of character development and social consciousness.

The institution has celebrated its Golden Jubilee celebration in December 2010, on a grand scale wherein the college has invited former faculty members, alumni, as well as the stakeholders and the former faculty members, were felicitated by the institution for the valuable services rendered by them.

In fact, Kapadwanj may be termed as an epicenter of the Eastern part of the Kheda district. Kapadwanj is a semi-urban town which was famous for its cotton production and marketing in the olden times. Agriculture and Dairy products are major sources of income and revenue both in Kapadwanj taluka in particular and Kheda district in general. 

Kapadwanj Kelavni Mandal has contributed a lot to the social cause of the entire region and with the foundation of this college; the students need not go for education to other major cities like Nadiad or Ahmedabad.

The college is situated on Kapadwanj – Dakor road, Kapadwanj, having a total campus area of 19.75 acres and the total built up area of the college is 3846 sq. mts. Ours is a co-education college affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad right from its foundation in 1961.

The college can take pride in the sense that a remarkable number of its graduates have made a mark in the fields like industries, business, trading, manufacturing, administration, social services, judiciary, and education. 

The college was named after Shah Keshavlal Somabhai who donated for Arts faculty and Vadilal Mansukhram Parekh who donated for Commerce faculty. Shah K. S. Arts & V. M. Parekh Commerce College enjoys a very good reputation from the examination point of view in the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad.

With a view of transparency in conducting examinations, the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad has entrusted this institution to conduct the semester-end university examinations in the capacity of Sub-Centre since 2014-15, covering the colleges of Kheda and Anand districts.

Kapadwanj Kelavni Mandal, which manages the college, is presently having Shri Ashwin Dani as the president. Mr. Dani is a prominent industrialist of the country, who owns the prestigious Asian Paints, Mumbai. Shah K. S. Arts & V. M. Parekh Commerce College adopted the part of famous Vaidik Mantra Vidya Yogen Rakshyatay (which means Education should be sustained by yoga.)

Therefore the college offers three years degree courses in Arts & Commerce stream under Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. It also offers some Self-financing & Add-on courses.
