About Seshadripuram First Grade College
Seshadripuram First Grade College (SFGC), Bengaluru Urban was established on 24th June 1992 managed by Seshadripuram Educational Trust, a public charitable Trust was established in the year 1930 by the Seshadripuram Educational Association.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
It is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 4th February 2016 under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.02 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 2nd May 2017.
In the first academic year of SFGC (1992-93), there was just one course with five students. Twenty-five years on, there are eight courses, 15 departments, 123 personal and 2688 students (2016 -17), making it the largest SET degree college and one of the top colleges affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru.
Over the years, the college campus, its infrastructure and physical facilities have grown by leaps and bounds - new buildings, expansive gardens, playgrounds, Science and Information Technology (IT) laboratories and every other infrastructure facility - in keeping with the institution's motto: "Commitment for Excellence".
The college has grown phenomenally during the past two decades and now they offer undergraduate courses in Science, Commerce, Physical Science, Life Science, and Computer Science; and the Postgraduate course in Management (MBA) and Commerce (M.Com.).

- The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, common rooms, auditorium, multipurpose halls, playground & hostel etc.
- A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 21st January 2010 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- Transportation facility is available for the students
- The college also has a hostel with providing all the facilities, security and good atmosphere, best suited for studies of the girls coming from far-off places
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
