About Seva Sadan Mahavidyalaya, Burhanpur
Seva Sadan Mahavidyalaya, Burhanpur (Dist. Khandwa) was established on 2nd August 1954 and managed by Seva Sadan Education Society which was established in 1957.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore formerly affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 14th March 1961 under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade (CGPA Score 2.64 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 2nd December 2016.
The aim of the college was committed to impart quality education to the students hailing from far and wide irrespective of caste, creed, gender, region, or language also to promote the intellectual, cultural and moral advancement of the people.
It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Khandwa played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.
The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce with various specializations under Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. It also offers Postgraduate Diploma courses.
University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 19th May 2014 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- Internet facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs

- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
