Serampore College (SC), Kolkata was established in 1800 by Baptist Missionary Society.

Serampore College has been re-accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC and affiliated to the University of Calcutta for Arts-Science-Commerce Departments to run diversified postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma and certificate courses.

The college being the first missionary college in India has always been the core attraction to the meritorious students.

Serampore with its rich cultural heritage and unique geographical position came to be the seat of bengal renaissance in the early 19th century.

The college was made imperative to admit students with the understanding that the instruction would be secular in character.
