SECAB Association's, A.R.S. Inamdar Arts, Science & Commerce College for Women, Vijayapura was also known as SECAB Women’s Degree College, Vijayapura established in 1974 under the management of Socio Economic Cultural Association Bijapur (SECAB) which was established in 1969 by Shams-uddin Punekar.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
It is affiliated with Karnataka State Women University, Vijayapura was also known Akkamahadevi Women's University, Vijayapura and it is recognized by the Vijayapura under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.48 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 5th May 2014.
It was a long cherished dream of Mr. S.A.Punekar to establish an Arts and Science First grade college for women to realize the dream of higher education of these two districts. The Degree College for women was started as a part of his total vision for women education. All the institutions run by him are known for their quality education and humanistic approach.
Recently in 2010, the college has been recognized as the “College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)” by the UGC and the college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.
The college is situated in the beautiful, airy and spacious campus of Jalnagar, (Hudco Cross). It has excellent road connectivity in this town. The campus is safe and provides exclusiveness and convenient for girls students.
It conducts undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations in both Kannada and English medium. The college has been also adjudged as one of the best ten colleges in the Karnataka State.
The college offers 30 different subjects in Arts, Science and Commerce streams at UG level and PG level.
This provides a wide range of subject combinations that help the (girl) students to take care of their future professional and personal lives.
