School of Islamic Studies (SIS), Chennai was established in 2010. The college is affiliated to the B.S. Abdur Rahman University.

Based on ten year experience of Kilakari Bukhari Aalim Arabic College, one of the most favorite institutions of our Chancellor Dr.B.S.Abdur Rahman which was started by him in 2000 at the Crescent Engineering College Campus, Vandalur, Chennai.

B.A. Islamic Studies is an interdisciplinary Program that focuses on betterment of humanity. It includes variety of fields like Teachings of the Holy Quran, Teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic finance, Islamic History, History of civilzation, Philosophy, Theology, Comparative Religion etc. "Arabic for Non-Arabs" in effectively incporated in the syllabus. The medium of instruction and exaination is Arabic. This Syllabus bridges between the tradtional faith-based education and the reality of life in modern era. The emphasis is given for all-round development through seminars, association activities, oratory training, Group Daw'a training, Daw'a camp, Madrasah - Institution visits, guest lectures by experts of various fields, games., etc.

The school offers B.A. Islamic Studies - Arabic Medium - Fully residential programme and B.A. Islamic Studies - English Medium - Evening Programme. This evening programme is conducted in BSACIST Information Centre, Buhari Towers, Nungambakkam, Chennai.

The school also offers research programme of M.Phil and Ph.D. in Islamic studies and Arabic language. The research programme focuses on Quran, Hadith, Socio- economic, religious and political fields.
