Sastra University-School of Civil Engineering, Thanjavur was established in 1984.

This college is affiliated to Sastra University.

The school occupies a prominent place in the records of its academic history right from its inception and has to its credit the local chapter of Indian Geotechnical Society.

The standard of excellence of the courses is reflected in the grades awarded to the school by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and in the success of their students in industry and academia, both in India & abroad.
