Sarhad College of Arts, Commerce and Science (SCACS), Pune was established in 1984. It is a part of Sarhad Group of Institutes.

The college is affiliated to the University of Pune and is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.

Sarhad was founded in June 1984. 'breathvakya' being the mission statement of the society, all the Institutes follow the same. All the institutes run by the Society are engaged in the task of providing equal opportunities to everyone in the field of education. The college has maintained its unique identity irrespective of financial or academic background, with the main objective of imparting quality professional education to all in general. Our college is permanently affiliated to the Government of Maharashtra and Pune University. Also recognized by University Grants Commission i.e. U.G.C u/s. 2 (f) and 12 (B)

The vision of the Sarhad college is to provide quality education to students from all sections of the society. The attempts to make avail of various government scholarships to the reserved category students and few scholarships were given at college level and management level to the deserving open category students. Mr. Sanjay Nahar Scholarship is started in our college to the one student of the third year from 2018-19 onwards. And it criteria is the student should have outstanding performance and is economically weak.

Sarhad has given its best to lay stress on providing education for the deprived, poor and the strife ridden who form a bulk of the ones seeking admissions here. The college has shown dramatic changes since its inception in both academics and administration. It has accomplished a number of milestones over the span of time. We have been students centric and always have strived hard for their complete development. By the kind support of the management, sincere staff and all the devoted stakeholders, the college has been trying to accomplish all round development.

Immense efforts are taken at Sarhad, by empowering and educating the students, to face the challenges at the global level and to make them talented enough to face the future world of work. The result of this is that, our students are leaving an indelible mark in various aspects and the same is reflected in our college vision and mission.

VISION

Sarhad envisages to establish itself as one of the best centers in south Asia offering educational opportunities to youths from violence affected regions in the next 10 years.

The vision and mission of the college correlate with the social responsibility for sustainable development of youths from violence affected regions. The college translates its vision and mission through adoption of students, scholarships, activities and programs. Decentralisation culture has been adopted by the college through different college committees, IQAC and CDC.

The staff competence has been upgraded through FDP. College has various welfare schemes like fee concession for staff and their children in the institution, PF, financial support etc. Performance has been evaluated through Annual Performance Appraisal System for the teaching and non-teaching staff.

MISSION

To empower youth from communities that lack infrastructure and are vulnerable to violence, through education and enable them to contribute in the welfare and enrichment of their surroundings.
