About Sardar Patel Medical College (SPMC)
Sardar Patel Medical College (SPMC), Bikaner previously known as Bikaner Medical College was founded by former Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1959.
The college has a distinction of being the second medical college of the state. Over the decades, the college has earned the reputation of being the centre for excellence in the field.
SP Medical College is affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health and Sciences, Jaipur.
The medical courses offered by it are recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI).
The college was recognized by the Medical Council of India in 1964, when the first batch of students were appearing in the final year of M.B.B.S.
SPMC was recognized for M.D. (Medicine, Physiology, Pathology and Pharmacology) and M.S. (Gen. Surg., and Obst. & Gyne.) in January 1967.
