Sarah Tucker College, Tirunelveli was established in 1895.

The wondrous realization of god's love manifested through the vision and altruistic concern of the physically challenged Miss Sarah Tucker of the mid-nineteenth century, holds pride of place as the first college for women in southern India.

The main aim of the college is to be an institute of excellence where young girls can achieve full potential in their academic, creative, physical and spiritual development so as to become empowered and worthy citizens capable of nuturing the society and the nation.
