Sarada Vilas Teachers College, Mysuru was established in August 1963 under the management of Saradavilas Educational Institutions (R).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

It is affiliated to University of Mysore, Mysuru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in August 1965 under Act, 1956.

It is recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru to offer B.Ed. course and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.89 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 29th March 2016.

The history of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions dates back to 1861 when it had its glorious beginning with its founder, the illustrious Rao Bahadur Bakshi Narasappa starting Sarada Vilas Patha Shala to teach Sanskrit with the patronage of his highness, the Late Maharaja, Sri. Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. The primary objective was to open up the doors of education to all those who wanted to study.

The Grant-in-aid was also extended to the college from 1967 by the department of Public Instruction, Government of Karnataka.

Saradavilas Education Institutions has occupied a very significant place in the Educational map of Karnataka, and it is one of the prestigious and oldest Educational Institution in South India.

The college is located in the SVEI complex. The building and structured, and the “Centenary Hall” are situated on a sprawling 10 acres of land in the heart of Mysore City adding aesthetic and architectural beauty to the city, with an Education overtone.

The college boasts of elite faculty richly endowed with knowledge and experience. This institution has a team of highly devoted and specially qualified personnel, who form the backbone of the organization.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum the aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
