Sanjay Gandhi Memorial College, Ranchi was established on 14th November 1980. It is managed by "Jharkhand Social And Educational Development Association", which is Registered under Act – 21,1860.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Ranchi University, Ranchi and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 23rd March 2001 & 12(B) on 19th February 2010 under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college is located in Pandra and Kamre both place in Ratu Road, Ranchi. The classes in regularly running in both Venue.

Since its establishment the college has made tremendous progress under the dynamic leadership and guidance of energetic founder secretary Dr, Bhuwneshwar Anuj.

The college is imparting higher educational to Girs and Boys from Intermediate and Graduation level in Arts, Science, and Commerce faculties.

At present, there are 6000 (Six Thousand) students on roll comprising of all sects and tribes. Vocational courses in BBA, BCA have been started in the college in order to provide job-oriented courses to the students. Some more Vocational Courses are to be started from the forthcoming session.

• To create a democratic culture in the college campus with active participation of the elected office bearers of the college students union in shaping the academic ethos of the college
• Equipping students to help the nation, meet the challenges of environmental pollution, deforestation, AIDS, population explosion etc. Seminars, Symposia, Awareness Derives are usually taken up under the banner of NSS
