Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Science & Technology (SGIDST), Patna was established in 1980.

This college is affiliated to Rajendra Agricultural University.

The institute has adopted the course curricula as per the recommendation of dean’s committee constituted by the ICAR, New Delhi for various disciplines separately and revised time to time as per recommendation of the committee. This is the only institute offering B. Tech. Dairy Technology in the state.

It has provided high dividends in terms of excellent academic and research outputs. It has fine-tuned and upgraded its academic programmes from time to time to harness the benefits of technological advancement in the new millennium.
