Samrat Ashok Technological Institute (SATI), Vidisha was established in 1960.

Samrat Ashok Technological Institute, a premier institute of the region was established by Late Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia on November 1, 1960 with a donation from Gangajali Trust fund. The Institute started with B.E. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering. Now the Institute offers 8 full time Under Graduate leading to degree in Bachelor of Engineering and 9 full time Post Graduate Courses ( 06 ME/M.Tech., MCA, MBA And M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry) in the areas of Engineering, Science and Management. It is an autonomous institute, which is Grant in Aid by Government of Madhya Pradesh and managed by the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Education Society chaired by Hon'ble Shrimant Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. The college campus is spread over an area of 85 acres of lush green land with natural surroundings.

The institute will attain the academic excellence and get many other benefits. Three academic Programmes B.E. in Civil Engineering, B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and B.E. in Electronics & Instrumentation have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation New Delhi.

This institute was the first engineering institute in Madhya Pradesh state to get accreditation. Process of Accreditation for other courses is in progress. Institute has been granted academic autonomy by Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya Bhopal in 2011.

Campus of Samrat Ashok Technological Institute- The Institute is located in Vidisha in the heartland of Madhya Pradesh. The institute is spreaded over 85 acres of land with well maintained roads and approaches, playgrounds and gardens, etc.

Institute has been accredited by NAAC, New Delhi vide letter No. F-19-26/EC(SC-14)/DO/2016/39.1, New Delhi, Dated 29.03.2016 for Five years.

Institute has been accorded autonomy by Barkatullah University Bhopal vide letter No. 1618/Academic/Affiliation/2015,Bhopal, Dated 09.07.2015 up to 2020-21.
