About Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya

Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi was established in 1958.

Its managed by the then Chief Minister Dr. Sampurnanand and Education Minister Pt. Kamlapati Tripathi.

The college is previous known as Varanaseya Snskrit Vishwavidyalaya.

It was renamed a Sampurnan and Sanskrit University under the U.P. State University Act in 1973.

The institute includes history of the Sanskrit Education itself. The guideline set by the glorious past of the Government Sanskrit College, Benares has been most appropriate for the University.

The college mainly aimed at providing Sanskrit knowledge to the students.

The college was mainly founded to highlight its International significance and to Keep intact traditional scholarship and to strike a compromise between Indian and western outlook and conduct research and study on the various aspects of culture and spiritual literature.

It is also recognized as Sanskrit College. The college acted like a University not only for this country but also for other countries.
