Samarpan Arts and Commerce College, Gandhinagar was established on 15th June 1996 with the sole aim of serving in the field of education, especially to the students coming from remote parts of the state.
It is established under the management of Gandhinagar Charitable Trust Sanchalit with an aim to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
In fact, this co-educational institution is the result of constant and continuous efforts of socially and academically committed philanthropists and educationists that belong to the Gandhinagar Charitable Trust.
The chief beneficiaries are those students who come from the diverse area of the region, especially from the remote villages of South Gujarat. The majority of these boys and girls belong to Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC).
The visionary and altruistic members of the Trust ensure accommodation of the students in local hostels run by Govt. of Gujarat for ST, SC, and OBC. During the past academic year (2007-08) the ratio of SC, ST and OBC students was 66%.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts & Commerce stream and also has a Contact Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi for UG, PG, & Certificate Courses.
