S.V. Teacher Training Institute, Kalayapuram was established in 1950.

The college is affiliated to University of Kerala.

It is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The institute conducts teacher training programme at the undergraduate level, that is, Teacher Training Certificate (TTC).

S.V. Teacher Training Institute conducts this two-year full time programme according to the rules and regulations of NCTE.

The institute provides ample basic amenities for the overall development of its students within the campus.
