S. N. M. Training College, Moothakunnam was established in 1960.

Its Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University.

with the aim to impart teacher education to the weaker sections of the society.

In August 2005 a new course of elementary T.T.I. was started with an intake of 50 students.

The college is accreditated by Naac and approved by NCTE and UGC.

The objectives of the college are to develop competent and committed teachers, to develop teachers who uphold the value of universal brotherhood and nonviolence & offer value education the pupil.
