Sree Kandukuri Veeresalingam Theistic College (S.K.V.T. College) was established in 1972. The college is affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry and accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Sree Kandukuri Veeresalingam Theistic College is a multi faculty co-educational  institution of higher education with U.G. courses. The institution is run by the Hithakarini Samaj. The Hithakarini Samaj was established by Rao Bahadur Sree Kandukuri Veeresalingam Pantulu more than hundred years ago (1906).

In 1972, Sree Kandukuri Veeresalingam Theistic College was established by the Secretary of Hithakarini Samaj Sri Meduri Satyanarayana. The college was started as a co-education college offering B.Com course. It was then extended to B.A in both Telugu and English media and B.Sc in English medium.

From 1980 – 81 statistics is being offered as an optional subject in BA and BSc classes in both English and Telugu medium. BSc classes with computers combination were started from 1997 – 98, whereas B.Com Vocational (Computers) was launched in 2010.

The college is well-equipped with all modern facilities within a nice and pleasant atmosphere providing high quality education to the weaker sections of Rajahmundry and its nearby areas. Affiliated to Andhra University, SKVT Degree College has also got recognition under University Grant Commission, New Delhi.

It has come under the jurisdiction of the newly established Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry, East Godavari District, since 2012.

The college has well equipped laboratories including spacious computer labs with adequate systems and a separate library. This institution is recognized by UGC as one of the leading colleges. This institution consistently maintains good performance in terms of high percentage of pass since the inception of the college.

The college has successfully celebrated the Andhra University youth festival in the year 2005. The college celebrated "Hithakarini Centenary Celebrations" in the year 2007. The Hithakarini Samajam was taken over by the Endowments Department in the year 1988; since then all the educational institutions have been under the purview of the Assistant Commissioner of Endowments.

The present Assistant Commissioner and Correspondent of S.K.V.T. College is Sri S. Chandra Sekhar.

The present principal (FAC) of this college is Sri. Pasupuleti Srirama Murthy. In order to enable the students and staff to cope with the rapid changes that are witnessed globally, new training and skilled programmes are designed while fulfilling the higher ideals of Sree Kandukuri Veeresalingam.
