About S.D. (P.G.) College, Panipat

S.D. (P.G.) College, Panipat was established in 1968 by Ch. Bansi Lal, the then Chief Minister of Haryana, in the presence of Swami Gitanandji, the exponent of the holy Gita and the most authentic prophetic voice of Panipat.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college is governed by S.D. Education Society (Regd.) Panipat, which also runs six more educational institutions in the town, all having a pre-eminent position in their respective spheres.

The college offers three years undergraduate & two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science & Commerce streams under Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. It also offers some Management & Add-On courses.

A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology.
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
