Ruben College of Education, Kanyakumari was established in 2005.

It was affiliated to the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai in the year 2008 and Accredited with “B” Grade by NAAC in the year 2012. Ruben College of Education is the brain child of Dr. M. Ruben, the managing trustee of Ruben Educational and Charitable Trust. As an unassuming personality of his dreams the rural village of Thadikkarankonam get national reputation and cultural pluralism.

With the long cherished dream of the trustee the Post Graduate Course M.Ed. degree was started in the academic year 2009-2010 with a total strength of 35 students. We got approval to start M.Phil programme on 22.05.15 from the Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University.

Our Institution is also a recognized study centre of IGNOU-B.Ed. from 2005 onwards. Our Campus is also blessed with other institution Ruben Matric Higher Secondary School started in the year 2003.

We are very proud about the achievements of our student teachers in the University Examination. Two of our student-teachers in 2005-2006 and one of our Student- Teacher in 2006-2007 are the rank holders of Manonmaniam Sundernar University. In the year 2014 - 2015 our M.Ed scholar got 1st mark in Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University District Level.

The College is managed under Ruben Educational & Charitable Trust enriched with infrastructure and other academic facilities with an annual intake of 100 students in Bachelor of Education course (B.Ed.) and 35 students in Master of Education course (M.Ed.).

The Institution is recognized by National Council for Teacher .Education, Bangalore and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University, Chennai. The main objective of the institution is to achieve planned and coordinated development of the teacher education system to produce quality future generation.

Ruben College of Education was established in the year 2005 with the approval of Government of Tamilnadu and National Council of Teacher Education, Southern Regional office, Bangalore and affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Abishekapatti, Tirunelveli on 23.11.2005 with intake of 100 B.
