Rishi Bankim Chandra College for Women (RBCCFW), North 24 Parganas was established in 1984.

This is an affiliated College. The primary objective of this college is to provide a scope & opportunity of higher education to the people of this locality specially amongst the women and who are economically weak and are not in a position to send their wards to a distant college.

All academic activities are carried out in accordance with the prescribed syllabi, examination schedules and academic calendar of the Calcutta University.

The college offers a wide choice of undergraduate courses both at honours and general level in disciplines of Arts and Science.

The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University. It is the oldest of the modern universities in India.
