About Rangia Teacher Training College (RTTC)
Rangia Teacher Training College (RTTC), Kamrup was established in 1987. It is one of the premier & co-educational institution of teahcer education situated at historically renowned place Randia-Rangia.
The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for an intake capacity of 100 vide NCTE, ERC Letter No. ERC/7-46 (ER-46.5.5) /2004/2046(1) dated 9th July, 2004. Revised order vide Letter No. ERC/NCTE/Impln. Regul.2014/28052 dated 10th December, 2014.
The institution has its own land and building. The total land area is 10702.08 sq. metres which was alloted to Rangia T. T. College by the Govt. of Assam in 1991 vide Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup’s letter no. KRS.13/90/28A dated 9th August, 1991.
The college has a residential area accommodating the Principal, grade-III and grade-IV employees. The disabled friendly U-shape building of the institution with two Class rooms, one Psychology Laboratory, one I.T. Laboratory, a Big Library with Reading Room, Girls Common Room, Activity Room etc., was completed in June 2004.
The building also includes a big multipurpose hall which can accommodate more than two hundred people. The total built up area of the college campus is 3010.56 sq.m.
The college has a dreams of transcending itself into a leading and respectable centre in the society for imparting quality and value based teacher education which would enable its alumni to face the ever dynamic challenges, problems arise at the time of teaching at secondary level with courage, confidence and success.
The main aim of the college has path realisation of the goals enlisted in aims and objectives is not only limited to teacher education but also aims at a rationally balanced and developed society. We are hopeful and determined and shall ever remain committed for rendering quality teacher education.
The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed there graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.
Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Rangia Teacher Training College (RTTC), Kamrup in its various departments.
- The college has an attractive campus situated in secured and serene atmosphere suitable for learning
- The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff with special coaching
- The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, play ground, canteen & hostel etc.
- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- At present, the college has been running both boys’ and girls’ hostels for the benefit of the students of remote areas. Separate application form will have to be submitted by intending students for this purpose. The hostel admission and other fees will be charged as per the institution’s own rules
- The college has well equipped Psychological Laboratory, Science Laboratory, Technology Laboratory and Language Laboratory. The psychological Laboratory has facilities for both statistical and psychological experiments to be performed with apparatus
- Internet facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- The college has its own canteen facility run by professional cook and helper. The canteen is always ready to serve you with refreshment items and lunch at any moment.
- Seminars are organized at departmental levels from time to time to enrich the level of knowledge of the students in the relevant field
- State Government and the Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
