About Ran Vijay Pratap Singh Government College
Ran Vijay Pratap Singh Government College, Umaria was popularly known as Govt. College, Umariya established in 1973 and managed by Jan Bhagidari Samiti (JBS).
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
The sole aim of reaching education to the rural and industrial masses and situated on the outskirts of the Umaria, the college now can boost by coming a long way in the path of development of education.
It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the semi-urban part of Umaria played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce with various specializations under Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa.
University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.

- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
