Ramesh Chandra (R.C.) Saharia Teachers Training College, Tangla was established on 14th August, 1995. It is one of the premier institution established in the cherished memory of Late Ramesh Chandra Saharia, the renowned educationist and Ex-Home Minister of Assam.
The college has been operating from the building of Tangla Higher Secondary School since its inception till the 7th of February, 2001. On 8th February, 2001, the college was shifted to its permanent building in Tangla, which was inaugurated by Dr. Hiralal Duarah, Vice-Chancellor Gauhati University.
The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The main objective of the college is to provide teachers training and facilitate the development of education in the backward region of the Bodoland Territorial Council now, in Udalgiri District of Assam.
The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed there graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks in eligibility for admission.
Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Ramesh Chandra (R.C.) Saharia Teachers Training College, Tangla in its various departments.
