Ramkrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan, Kolkata was established in 1961.

Its a partly residential degree college for women was the first educational institution started by the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission.

The college offering three years degree course B.A. recognized by West Bengal State University.

The college today stands among the premier women's institutions of the state. At the college the students are placed under the direct supervision and care of the dedicated monastic members of Sri Sarada Math and Mission and fulltime employed teachers.

The institution helps to nurture and strengthen the physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual faculties of the students.

The college thus does not believe in churning out good students and self-reliant human beings with humane principles and a strong sense of responsibility towards society.

It works towards creating an ideal society based on the principles of equality, freedom, justice and tolerance and respect for religious diversity and moral values, emphasized in the Constitution of India.
