Raghunathpur College (RC), Purulia was established in 1961. It is an affiliated to University of Burdwan. 

Raghunathpur College established in the year 1961 is the second big college in the district and the biggest in student's strength. The college has its full potentialities for providing excellent education to the aspirants with every amenities upto it's level. I'm very proud with all my dedicated and updated faculty members and hope that the college will get its desired credit very soon.The locational advantage of the college is another important aspect to attract the parents for sending their sons and daughters to the college without any anxiety of transportation.

The college has record of toppers in different subjects in different years. Infrastructure is developing very fast for the benefits of modern and updated educational opportunities to the students coming here.

It began its journey as a private educational institute. The active co-operation of the common people, the education lovers and the dedicated educationists of the locality finally helped the Raghunathpur College come into existence.

The dream of establishing a premier educational institution was materialized under the caring supervision and endorsement of some noble personalities of the area.

The college is located in an idyllic naturescape on an open space, surrounded by the conopy of the lush green vegetation of the Joychandi Hills. It is situated in the southern end of the Raghunathpur town.

The Purulia-Barakar road connects the college to remote places. The nearest railway station, Joychandi Pohar, is aboun 4 kms. From the college by road.
