South Konkan Education Society's Rani Parvati Devi College of Arts and Commerce, Belagavi was also known as R.P.D. College of Arts & Commerce, Belagavi was established in 1945 and managed by South Konkan Education (SKE) Society.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college affiliated to Rani Channamma University, Belagavi and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.27 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 15th September 2016.

The Society was formed in 1944 at Sawantwadi by a group of individuals from Konkan region who believed in education as the only means of development of the individuals and the Society.

Rani Parvati Devi College [Named after its first patron the late Rajamata of Sawantwadi]. SKE Society’s first educational institution was established in 1945. Initially, the college offered instruction in Arts and Science stream.

The college was relocated to Belagavi in 1948. The college was housed in the beautiful summer palace of Raja Patwardhan of Jamakhandi in the quiet suburb of Tilakwadi. Today S.K.E Society’s campus sprawls over 30 acres with tall trees, a mango grove, a botanical garden and a large playground.

The college stands for academic excellence and endeavors to create an environment which generates love for learning, habits of critical thought and effective communication.

In 1966 on the recommendation of Karnatak University - Dharwad, R.P.D College has bifurcated into two colleges namely Rani Parvati Devi College of Arts & Govindram Seksaria Science College.

The Commerce wing was added to Rani Parvati Devi College in 1995 and subsequently, the college was renamed Rani Parvati Devi College of Arts & Commerce.  In continuation with its commitment towards empowering the individual with knowledge Rani Parvati Devi College of Arts & Commerce has taken up the responsibility of providing education in the field of management.

The college has started the Bachelor of Business Administration course from the academic year 2007-2008.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts & Commerce stream with various optional specializations under Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. It also offers Add-On Certificate courses
