R.B. Sagar College of Education, Ahmedabad was established in 1969 as B.Ed. college wherein teacher-training is given to students who prefer the noble profession of teaching. Overall management is managed by Sagar Welfare Educational Trust.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. The college is approved and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses.

This college ever since its beginning aims at producing teachers in the form of builders of the nation by providing quality education to them. The highly qualified and well-trained teacher educators of this college always work with the zeal of performing the noble duty of training the trainees of the college.

It also has a well-mannered and devoted administrative staff. It possesses a rich and complete library containing  more than 15000 books, various magazines, and periodicals; reference materials and newspapers

It also has a well-equipped and modern science laboratory and a store room containing educational equipment like geographical maps, audio-visuals, pictorial graphics etc.

This college runs a two years degree courses of teacher education consisting of various subjects like Gujarati, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Maths, Science, Accountancy, Commerce, Social studies and Psychology as methods of teaching.

During the course of study, the students are taught to observe and practice teaching lessons in different schools. Co-curricular activities like seminars, workshops, quizzes, recreational activities, tours, sports etc. are held regularly throughout the year.

the most amazing thing about this college is that every year the final results of students of the college remain to be in between 95 to 100 percent, which is a matter of pride for the college.

The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.
