Rani Bhagyavati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya was established in 1971. It is located in Bijnor, U.P. Spread over a campus area of 2.5 acres, the University was established on the 1st of July, 1971.
The college is managed by a managing committee appointed by the Vira charitable society, Bijnor charitable organization started by the Vira family. apart from the RBD PG College, the society also manages several other educational institutes in and around Bijnor district.
RBD Girls is affiliated with MJP Rohilkhand University in Bareilly, U.P. Its curriculum are as per the guidelines laid down by MJP Rohilkhand. Today, RBD Girls offers both Undergraduate and Post Graduate degree programs, in addition to short term Certificate and Diploma courses.
Their Academic programs are backed up by extra curricular schemes, academic seminars, symposia and workshops to ensure that the quality of education is both practical as well as complete with cultural and sports programs.
Rani Bhagyavati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Bijnor has its origin dating back to 1971 when Rani Bhagyawati Devi conceptualized an institution of higher learning for women population of Bijnor and neighbourhood regions. Her dream for upliftment of women and their empowerment gave birth to this pioneering institution which has now become a leading women's college in the state. The Mahavidyalaya was formally inaugurated ny Hon'ble Shri Sheelta Prasad, then Vice Chancellor of Agra University, Agra, in the presence of Vira Brothers on 11 July, 1971. In initial years, the Mahavidayalaya was affiliated to Agra University, Agra. Later on, in 1976 the Mahavidyalaya became automatically affiliated to M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly after its formal establishment.
