Pune District Education Association's Baburaoji Gholap College, Sangvi (Dist. Pune) was established in June 1989 and managed by Pune District Education Association (PDEA)-(R) which was established in 1941.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.61 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 15th September 2012.

The aim of the college is to provide education to the needy rural masses of Pune district for their upliftment also to offer need-based education to face the challenges of the 21st century and empowering girl students.

It is a co-educational self-financed Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Pune played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the admission criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses and two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams with various specializations under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. It also offers Add-On Certificate course.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
